In 2024, TIPC was honored with the 18th Construction Golden Safety Awards. The awarded projects include ‘Public Facilities and Permanent Revetment and S04~S05 Wharf Project of Taipei Port South Wharf C Fill Area’ and ‘Wharf Seawall and Reclamation Project at Kaohsiung Port A6’, highlighting TIPC’s outstanding performance in construction site safety management and occupational hazard prevention.

The ‘Public Facilities and Permanent Revetment and S04~S05 Wharf Project of Taipei Port South Wharf C Fill Area’ is a key initiative aimed at developing the Taipei Port Intelligent Vehicle Industrial Park. Key features include construction of a permanent seawall, public infrastructure, and establishment of two dedicated Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) berths, S4 and S5, for automobile transport vessels. Upon its expected completion in June 2027, the seawall will be used for mooring harbor service and small working vessels, while the S4 and S5 berths will serve for cargo handling operations, accelerating industrial settlement in the port area and enhancing the international competitiveness of Taipei Port.

The ‘Wharf Seawall and Reclamation Project at Kaohsiung Port A6’ is being implemented in line with Taiwan’s national energy policy and the offshore wind power development strategy. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2025. It will provide a production and shipment base for wind turbine foundations and submarine cables, leveraging the southern Taiwan manufacturing cluster and strategic role of Kaohsiung Port as a maritime hub, which is expected to accelerate the growth of Taiwan’s offshore wind power industry.

The award-winning projects are part of the ‘Development and Construction Plan for International Ports’ approved by the Executive Yuan. In executing these projects, TIPC has demonstrated a strong commitment to balancing port operational needs with national policy development, while placing a high priority on occupational safety and health management. It has incorporated occupational safety and health performance evaluation during the vendor selection process, and source-based safety controls in the planning and design phase, covering contracts and operational costs, as well as conducted risk assessments and ongoing risk management. For high-risk activities, regular inspections are conducted and the contractor-specific safety guidelines are formulated to ensure construction safety. TIPC also actively cooperates with local governments to promote safety awareness through counseling, outreach, and participation in ‘Family of Occupational Safety and Health’ programs. Through public-private collaboration, TIPC enhances the quality of occupational safety and health management in port construction projects, securing the safety and well-being of engineering personnel and fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
