TIPC has been honored with the 2024 Harvard Business Review (HBR) ‘Ding-Ge Award’ for Digital Transformation, highlighting TIPC’s achievements in building smart ports. The company adopts a customer-centric approach by integrating technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data to enhance operational efficiency and service quality. Meanwhile, ‘Port Business Digital Transformation Incentive Program' was launched to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and sustainable development, aiming to build a data-driven, smart, and sustainable port ecosystem.

In 2024, TIPC participated for the first time in the 4th Harvard Business Review ‘Ding-Ge Award’ for Digital Transformation and stood out among numerous outstanding corporate teams, and was honored ‘Smart Management Transformation Award—Excellence’ in the large-scale enterprise category, making it the only state-owned enterprise to receive the award.

‘Customer-Centric’ Digital Service Mindset, Harnessing Technology for Dual Transformation in Port Digitization and Sustainability

TIPC adheres to a customer-centric approach, aligning its services with client needs while integrating operational management information to deliver intelligent and innovative solutions. By leveraging IoT sensing technology, big data analytics, and AI, TIPC enhances navigation safety, monitors real-time berthing status, and improves cargo transportation efficiency. Through information sharing, it strengthens both internal and external communication, ensuring the delivery of safe and efficient port services.

Cross-Sector Collaboration Accelerates Digital Transformation, Co-Creating a New Smart Port Future with the Maritime Industry

TIPC upholds the principle of mutual benefit within the maritime industry ecosystem and ongoingly promotes the ‘Port Business Digital Transformation Incentive Program' to encourage port and shipping stakeholders to adopt innovative digital services. Over the past three years, more than 30 innovative proposals have been submitted, fostering a digitally sustainable maritime ecosystem through diverse cross-sector collaborations.

In 2024, the Port Business Digital Transformation Incentive Program' was continuously implemented. As of December 31, a total of 13 proposals had been submitted, introducing smart solutions which include container yard automation, automated grain truck loading, and smart yacht marina applications, collectively driving the overall digital transformation and service upgrade of Taiwan port network.

‘Data Sharing’ Enhances Service Efficiency and Optimizes Maritime Industry Information Exchange

The key to future smart port development lies in the mastery and application of ‘data’. There are three major trends that cannot be overlooked, including ‘enhancing the value of data application’, ‘establishing strong connections within the maritime industry ecosystem’ and ‘applying digital technology to achieve sustainable port development’. By leveraging digital technologies, ports can improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and optimize energy usage, all of which contribute to achieving long-term sustainability goals.
