Port of Taichung "2025 Port of Taichung Charm · Painted Portraits" Children's Sketching Contest

:::

To celebrate the 49th anniversary of the opening of the Port of Taichung and to promote a high-quality port image, the Taichung Branch held the "Zhonggang Charm · Painted Portraits" children's sketching contest on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Port of Taichung Passenger Service Center. Combining ocean education, the event inspired children's boundless imagination about the ocean, ports, ships, cargo, and passengers, as they used brushes to depict the port scenery in their minds and painted the beauty of the Port of Taichung in color.

Children's drawing and doodling are important ways for children to express their inner worlds. Through the use of lines and color, imagination and creativity are inspired, and observation and concentration are cultivated. Through children's innocent perspectives combined with their boundless imagination, a richer, more diverse, and more colorful Port of Taichung can be seen, and public attention is drawn to the symbiotic relationship between the development of an international port and citizens' lives and the economy.

The children's sketching contest has been held since 2019 and is now in its sixth year, receiving an enthusiastic response from children and adults alike each year. The contest is divided into four groups—kindergarten, and lower, middle, and upper elementary grades—with more than 150 children registering for this edition. The Taichung Branch hopes that by hosting the event it will continue to advance ocean education and promote artistic creation, while fulfilling corporate social responsibility and injecting more ocean culture and environmental education energy into the local community.
