Background: Continuing policy momentum and establishing a green-energy dialogue platform for the port cluster
Following the termination of the "Directions for the Establishment of the Transportation Technology Industry Council" on December 12, 2024, the Council's Seaport and Airport Green Energy–Related Industry Task Force was likewise discontinued. To sustain the spirit of cross-sector exchange and policy dialogue and support national energy transition and net-zero emissions policies, TIPC continues to convene the "Taiwan Port Cluster Green Energy–Related Industry Forum" as a communication platform with government agencies, industry, and academia–research institutions. Through substantive exchanges, TIPC gains insight into industry needs as an important reference for new-energy planning at ports and adjustments to service evaluations and capabilities.
Implementation Overview: Focusing on key issues and deepening substantive exchange
In 2025, three thematic forums were held, focusing respectively on "Development of New Energy Vessels and Port Applications," "Offshore Wind Port Business," and "CCUS Development and Port Applications." More than one hundred professionals from government agencies, energy and shipping firms, wind power developers, and academic and research institutions participated. Participants shared and exchanged views on international trends in new energy development, practical port applications, and the introduction of low-carbon technologies, promoting cross-sector integration of perspectives and knowledge sharing.
Key Achievements: Strengthening stakeholder communication to support sustainable port development
Through this series of forums, TIPC successfully established a regular communication platform for the green energy industry, strengthened two-way exchange with stakeholders, and kept abreast of developments in new energy, offshore wind power, and CCUS. Insights gained from these exchanges have been incorporated into port planning and service capacity evaluations, helping enhance ports' capacity to support the green energy industry. These demonstrate TIPC's proactive efforts to align with national green energy policy and work with industry to advance sustainable development of the port cluster.
