Reflecting its continuing efforts to improve the quality and scope of its smart-port services, Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC) launched the publicly accessible functions of TPNet 2.0 on October 20, 2026. Critical improvements featured in these public-access features include the comprehensive refactoring of the original code and a spruced up, new interface. The latest release offers more intuitive operations and a faster, more efficient search environment for domestic and international users alike.
The comprehensively upgraded core architecture delivers both significantly enhanced data security and system resilience. Moreover, beyond improving both the stability and efficiency of system operations, TPNet 2.0 offers the flexibility to incorporate and seamlessly integrate future smart service offerings as well. After nearly ten years in service, the interface used in TPNet 1.0 is noticeably behind the times. Therefore, for these publicly accessible functions, the interface has been completely revamped and updated, with today’s user experience clearly prioritized. Furthermore, the integration of responsive web design (RWD) ensures the platform now functions seamlessly across smartphone, tablet, and desktop formats to deliver the same high-quality user experience regardless of the platform used.
To optimize the convenience and efficiency of data access for users, TIPC has systematically streamlined the logic underlying TPNet’s publicly accessible rules and workflows. Moreover, a team comprising key staff from across TIPC’s home office and subsidiaries carefully evaluated the app’s existing publicly accessible APIs to identify those suitable for minimization or in-housing. One key improvement is the integration of previously separately screened critical functions, including Schedule an Arrival, Schedule a Departure, Vessel Activity, Latest Vessel Schedule, and Completed Vessel Activities, onto a single, easy to access and use Vessel Activity page, significantly streamlining user navigation on the platform.
To further improve the user experience, from optimizing pull-down menu filter criteria, improving search field autocomplete functionality, adjusting system color contrast to minimize eye fatigue, and repositioning the buttons for data export and download, TIPC has completely reconfigured TPNet’s public pages to let users intuitively access required information and data. Furthermore, to ensure frictionless international access, these upgraded public pages are now fully navigable in English as well as Chinese.
The launch of TPNet 2.0’s publicly accessible functions represents a key milestone that goes well beyond a technical framework upgrade to fully embody TIPC’s commitment to comprehensive digital transformation and service optimization. Delivering technologically complex information and functions in one streamlined, intuitively responsive platform reflects TIPC’s commitment to putting Taiwan’s smart port operations at the international forefront of safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
TPNet 2.0’s publicly accessible functions are available online starting October 20, 2026. TIPC welcomes its shipping and port sector partners and the general public to try them out at:
