TIPM Performs Discharging and Shifting of Seajacks Zaratan to Taichung Port

Taiwan has set up its goal of awarding 5.5GW of offshore wind capacity to be developed by 2025. In the near future, it is predictable there will be a desperate and fast-growing need for various working vessels and tugboats both in developing and O&M stages. As a leading tugboat operator in Taiwan, the core business of TIPC Marine Corp., Ltd. (TIPM) is towage service. The service scope includes: Keelung Port, Suao Port, Hualien Port, Taichung Port, Kaohsiung Port, Anping Port and Mazu Port. To meet government offshore wind developing policy, TIPM has built two 6,400 hp tugboats respectively in 2016 and 2017 while our two 5,000 hp tugboats launched this April. Two 6,400 hp tugboats have obtained and the other two 5,000 hp tugboats will obtain NK classification to meet the high standard requirement from offshore wind developers.
TIPM deploys one 6,400 hp tugboat and two 4,200 hp tugboats to performs discharging of Seajacks Zaratan from Boskalis Mighty Servant 3, and shifting to Taichung Port on May 15th, 2019. Seajacks Zaratan, self-propelled jack-up vessel, is 81m long, 41m wide, 4.5m draft and 9,700 tons weigh. It was shifted by Mighty Servant 3, semi-submersible heavy transport vessel, from the port of Rotterdam. Seajacks Zaratan will be exploited as an installation vessel for construction of Formosa I phase 2, with 20 6MW turbines, in Taiwan.
To meet the requirement of service quality and QHSE of OWF industry, TIPM has acquired ISO9001, TOSHMS and ISO14001 certification in 2018. Currently two 6,400 hp tugboats and the other two newly and locally built SWATH-type CTVs (Crew Transfer Vessel) have passed codes of ISM and IMCA. TIPM provides tugboats, CTVs, guard vessels and other maritime services for developers, EPCI, suppliers of wind turbines as well as all contractors in windfarm starting from this year. This is to fully provide offshore wind industry with high standard of localization services in Taiwan.
