The Kaohsiung Port Terminal is designed to service and support the diverse needs of cruise ship operators, passengers, port businesses, and water recreation/leisure business operators. Around 1,230m2 of floorspace on levels 1 and 2 of this building (near the passenger departure and arrival areas) will be leased via an open bidding process to retailers interested in opening duty-free retail outlets, gift shops, cafés, and diners.

The retail spaces in this lease opportunity are adjacent to Wharf Nos. 19 and 20 in the Asia New Bay Area near the main waterfront tourism district – home to the Maritime Cultural & Popular Music Center, Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, and Kaohsiung Public Library. This area is currently served by the waterfront light rail line and, in the future, will also be served by Kaohsiung MRT's yellow line.

Work on the Kaohsiung Port Terminal will be completed in December 2021. Reflecting the port's prioritization of improving passenger service quality and enhancing the port’s image as a major national gateway, levels one and two of the Kaohsiung Port Terminal, with passenger arrival and departure facilities, retail space, and water leisure / recreation space, will be opened first. The waterfront terrace levels (levels 3~6) and high-rise ocean view levels (levels 14~15) will be leased via separate bidding proceedings in the future, open to restaurant operators, retailers, leisure service providers, and other related businesses.

Bids to lease and operate retail facilities on levels 1 and 2 of Kaohsiung Port Terminal will be accepted between July 10th and July 23rd, 2020. Please contact the Port of Kaohsiung’s Business Department for related investment information and details.
